From the Academic Session 2004-05, IITs have started conducting a Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM). The objective of JAM is to provide admissions to M.Sc. (TwoYear), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, M.Sc.-M.Tech., and other Post-Bachelor Degree Programs at the IITs and Integrated Ph.D. Degree Programs at IISc and to consolidate Science as a career option for bright students from across the country. JAM is expected to serve as a benchmark for the undergraduate level science education in the country. The integrated Ph.D. Program at IISc was started in the early 90’s to enable students to directly join for a Ph.D. degree after their B.Sc. Degree.

The M.Sc. (Two-Year), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D, M.Sc.-Ph.D.,  M.Sc.-M.Tech. Dual Degree, and other Post-Bachelor Degree Programs at the IITs and the integrated Ph.D. Program at IISc offer high quality education in their respective disciplines, comparable to the best in the world. The curricula for these Programs are designed to provide the students with opportunities to develop academic talent leading to challenging and rewarding professional life. The curricula are regularly updated at IISc & IITs. The interdisciplinary content of the curricula equips the students with the ability to utilize scientific knowledge for practical applications. The medium of instruction in all the Programs is English.

The Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training, Chandigarh is provided September Special Exam 2013 Admit Cards for download. PSBTE & IT Board has decided to conduct a Special Examination (supplementary) in the re-appear papers of all the semesters for the students of admission batches 2010 and earlier including Part Time Diploma courses. The examination shall be held from 10th September 2013.

This examination shall be conducted in only four centres namely 
a. Chandigarh College of Engineering & Technology, Chandigarh
b. Mehr Chand Polytechnic College, Jalandhar
c. Guru Nanak Dev Polytechnic College, Ludhiana
d. Govt. Polytechnic College, Bathinda

The practical papers if any shall be conducted at the concerned institute after completion of the theory papers. Only students having re-appear in not more than four subjects including theory and practical are eligible to appear in this examination. The question papers shall be set as per the latest syllabus of the diploma courses. The detailed syllabus of the different subjects are available on the Board’s website.

Those students who had been booked under UMC cases are not eligible to appear in this exam. The date sheet of the Special Examination shall be displayed on the Board’s website and the examination centres after 4th September 2013.

REGARDING THE COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION FOR 
80 POSTS OF ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY IN THE DEPARTMENT OF HOME AFFAIRS AND JUSTICE, GOVERNMENT OF PUNJAB.


Each Paper shall consist of 100 questions and each question shall carry 02 marks. There will be no negative marking. The objective type multiple choices questions for the Competitive Examination shall be from the syllabus. The candidates shall be expected to have a general and basic overview of the above subjects and also the ability to answer questions based on practical application. The standard of questions shall be of graduate level. 

The Papers are required to be attempted in English language only. The minimum qualifying marks shall be 35% for General category and 30 % for all reserved category candidates. 

The object of the Competitive Examination is to shortlist candidates for interview. No candidate shall be allowed to appear in the Interview unless he/she secures minimum 140 marks and120 marks (read 35% for General category and 30% for all reserve category candidates respectively) in the Competitive Examination out of 400 marks. The marks obtained in the Competitive Examination shall be counted towards final Merit. The candidates not more than three times the number of vacancies shall be called for the interview. However, this number shall be subject to variation, if two or more candidates at the last number (the number at the end) get [4] equal marks, then all of them shall be considered eligible, warranting the corresponding increase in the stipulated ratio.

2. The candidate may download his/her admit card by entering the Registration number and the Date of Birth.
3. The admit cards are issued provisionally subject to confirmation of the fees of the candidates by the bank and other eligibility conditions as per the advertisement published dated: 26-july-2013.
4. All candidates are required to bring the original copy of the “candidates copy of the challan form” and submit a self attested photocopy of the same to the invigilator in the examination hall.
