University Grants Commission is issued notification for National Eligibility Test (NET) - December, 2013 for Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Assistant Professor.

The University Grants Commission announces holding of the National Eligibility Test (NET) on 29th December 2013 (SUNDAY) for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Eligibility for Assistant Professor both in Indian universities and colleges. UGC will conduct NET in 79 subjects including Santali new subject (listed under item no. 9) at 84 (Eighty Four, including five new centres) selected NET Coordinating Institutions (listed under Item no. 10) spread across the country.

The result of the UGC-NET to be held on 29th December, 2013 will be made available on the UGC websites: www.ugc.ac.in and www.ugcnetonline.in as and when it is declared. The candidates will not be individually intimated about their result.

The candidates who qualify for the award of Junior Research Fellowship are eligible to pursue research in the subject of their post-graduation or in a related subject and are also eligible for Assistant Professor. The universities, institutions, IITs and other national organizations may select the JRF awardees for whole time research work in accordance with the procedure prescribed by them. The award of JRF and Eligibility for Assistant Professor both OR Eligibility for Assistant Professor only will depend on the performance of the candidate in all three papers of NET. However, the candidates qualifying exclusively for Assistant Professor will not be considered for award of JRF. Candidates appearing in NET should clearly specify in the prescribed Application Form whether they are applying for both JRF & Eligibility for Assistant Professor both OR only for Eligibility for Assistant Professor. Candidates who qualify the Test for eligibility for Assistant Professor will be governed by the rules and regulations for recruitment of Assistant Professor of the concerned universities/colleges/state governments, as the case may be.

Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Persons with disability (PWD)/Other Backward Classes (OBC) (Non-creamy layer), as per the central list of Other Backward Classes available on National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC), Government of India website : www.ncbc.nic.in, candidates will be given such special concessions as may be decided by the Commission.

The Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi will be conducting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for classes I to VIII on 16.02.2014 (Sunday). Candidates can apply only On-line for CTET-FEB 2014 on CBSE/CTET website http://ctet.nic.in/ . 

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, has announced the time table for Central Teachers Eligibility Entrance Test (CTET) for the session February 2014, for appointment of teachers for the classes 1 to 8 across the country

The Schedule of CTET Feb 2014 Examination has been changed from the earlier CTET examinations.  The Paper-2 will now be held in the Morning Session and Paper-1 in the Evening Session as given below.
Date of Examination - 16.02.2014 : Paper - II
TIMING - 09.30 TO 12.00 HOURS, DURATION - 2.30 HOURS

Date of Examination - 16.02.2014 : Paper - I
TIMING - 14.00 TO 16.30 HOURS, DURATION - 2.30 HOURS

CTET Feb-2014 Exam Important Dates :
Online Submission of application: 11.10.2013 to 31.10.2013.
Last Date for Receipt of Confirmation Page with challan, if fee paid through challan in CBSE Office: 07.11.2013.
Check CTET Feb 2013 Application Status on Website: 18.12.2013.
Contact CBSE, if Application not received: 20.12.2013 to 03.01.2014.
CTET Online Corrections in Particulars: 20.12.2013 to 03.01.2014.
Download CTET Admit Card from the Website w.e.f.: 09.01.2014.
Date of Examination: 16.02.2014.

Online Application has to be submitted by accessing the following CTET website CTET Website. The candidate should supply all the details while filling up the ‘On-line’ Application. Candidates are required to take a print out of the computer generated Confirmation Page after successful submission of data, which has to be sent to CBSE, CTET Unit, after affixing a passport size photograph and signature in the space provided, and also with the original CBSE copy of Challan( if fees paid through Challan).
