In 1780 British East India Company started the Madrasah Education in Bengal. To conduct the Madrasah Examination in Bengal the East Bengal Secondary Education Board (1921), the Board of Islamic Intermediate and Secondary Education Dacca for High Madrasah Education (1922) and the Central Madrasah Examination Board for Senior Madrasah Education (1927) were established in the year 1947. The Central Madrasah Examination Board was converted to the Madrasah Education Board, Bengal by the recommendation of Moazzamuddin Committee (1946), after some years it was again renamed as the West Bengal Madrasah Education Board, This board is oldest board in our India country.

This year about 10.5 lac candidates appeared in the Madhyamik Pariksha.
The examination was started on 24th March 2014 and ended on 6th March 2014.

CBSE (central board of secondary education) affiliates all schools approved by central government of India. The board conducts final examination every spring for All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE) for class 10 and 12. Over 12 lakh students appeared on CBSE 10 examination. The examination is being conducted at a total number of 300 schools and 78 centers.

Around 13 lakhs students all over India had appeared for the CBSE Class X exams.
