The GITAM University is one of the universities of the Andhra Pradesh state. The university is the first private university of the Andhra Pradesh state. The university full name is a Gandhi institute of technology and management. The university is situated in the Visakhapatnam city in the Andhra Pradesh state. The university was established in the year 1980 and in the year 2007 the university became a deemed university of the Andhra Pradesh state.
The university is recognized by the university grant commission (UGC). The university has two campuses. The one main campus is in the Visakhapatnam city and second off campus is in the Hyderabad city of the Andhra Pradesh state. The university was established to provide technical education to the students for the development and betterment of the nation. The university is providing education facilities for both under graduation and post graduation courses. Many different schools and colleges who are providing technical and management education are affiliated with the university.
