The Bharath University is one of the private universities of the Tamilnadu state. The university was established in the year 1984. At the time of the university name was a Bharath institute of science and technology. In the year 2003 the university became a deemed university and name of the university changed to Bharath institutes of higher education and research. In the year 2006 the name of the university again changed to Bharath University. The university is situated in the Chennai city of the Tamilnadu state. The university is spread in a large area of land.
The university is recognized by the university grant commission (UGC). The university is providing education facilities for both under graduation and post graduation courses. The university is providing education in many different departments like architecture, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, software engineering, computer science and engineering, electronics and instrumentation engineering, biomedical engineering, automobile engineering, industrial engineering, information technology, industrial biotechnology, Bioinformatics, management studies and computer applications.
